books, movies, shows n’ peeps

coucou! it’s been a while… a whole month to be exact.

i’ve been busy hosting my exchange partner from france and we had a couple rad weeks together. meanwhile, if you know me, the crazier my life gets, the more stuff i expose myself to. i just can’t help it: books, movies, musicals, and this month i got Netflix, so i watched me some good tv shows as well.

it’s actually what i love about being such a huge nerd: people just rain recommendations on me… i suppose it’s reciprocal. almost everyday i get poems, authors, podcasts and even norwegian tv shows that i “HAVE TO CHECK OUT”.

not that i mind.

me, surrounded by goodies.

here’s just a very irresponsible list. i will definitely write reviews for most of these soon. so… just you wait (*finger guns)!

movies i watched:

cyrano de bergerac ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

se7en ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (5/5)

beauty and the beast ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5)

grease ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4.5/5)

(i know i know, i haven’t watched it before… shame shame)

perks of being a wallflower ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (6/5!!!)

die hard ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.4/5)

shows i watched:

13 reasons why ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)

how to get away with murder ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (4/5)

goblin (kdrama) ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.5/5)

books i read/ am reading:

Funny how it works with white kids though. It’s dope to be black until it’s hard to be black.      (The Hate You Give)

Georgia Peaches and Other Forbidden Fruit by Jaye Robin Brown ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3/5)

A List of Cages by Robin Roe (still reading)

Fun Home by Alison Bechdel (it’s as great as the musical)

Night Sky with Exit Wounds by Ocean Vuong (still reading but it’s amazing so far)

The Hate You Give by Angie Thomas (15 pages in and i’m blown away already)

We cannot all look alike. –Amber Liu

amber liu

i’ve been loitering at the entrance of the kpop fandom for a while, and then i found amber. she’s a member of the girl group f(x), and she’s the realest, smartest and most talented person ever. she’s so cute and down-to earth and meanwhile so full of wise words about self-acceptance. she’s one of first people in the kpop industry with an androgynous style.

petra collins

petra collins

i first discovered petra collins on instagram. she is an amazing artist and photographer from Toronto (woo hoo TO!). her photos are stunning with dreaming colours and the beauty of things unsaid and unexpressed.

jen ruggirello

if you watch buzzfeed videos, you would recognize jen… she is so cute and genuine, and as a queer asian woman (well, half-asian half-italian), she is such an inspiration.

aaron tveit

aaron tveit is the broadway dreamboat… he was in musicals such as Next to Normal, Wicked, Catch Me If You Can, and Grease Live, Rent Hollywood, and the Hollywood Les Miserables movie. his voice is like when you wake up on the first day of summer vacation.
